Patients categorized into four patient subgroups based on severity symptoms: no-negative- (NNS), threshold-negative- (TNS), moderate-negative- (MNS), prominent-negative (PNS) subgroups. MRI measures volume, mean cortical thickness surface area pre-selected regions tested for relationships general ability symptom Positive associations found thickness, cognition dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC), orbitofrontal (OFC), fusiform gyrus (FG) left anterior cingulate (ACC), but no differences In PNS subgroup, was conversely negatively associated volume ACC. These results indicate that prominent have different ACC, which may point abnormal neurodevelopment.
